Supported Configurations
AutoVirt’s data migration software is an extension to your Windows file server environment that allows you to have more visibility and control for managing networked files.
The AutoVirt instance supports a single domain. Multiple domains require multiple unique instances.
AutoVirt’s data migration software works with the following CIFS-compatible storage devices:
- Windows
- NetApp (without NFS)
- EMC Celerra (without NFS)
AutoVirt Components
AutoVirt data migration software included three component types that run on dedicated servers:
- Data Storage Controller (DSC) - AutoVirt's policy engine and central authority
- Global Namespace Server (GNS) - AutoVirt's file virtualization
- Data Engine (DE) - data movement software
AutoVirt's Web-based GUI should be installed on the DSC server.
