CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL BOSTON DEPLOYS AUTOVIRT SOLUTION
TO INCREASE SPEED AND EFFICIENCY OF WINDOWS DATA REPLICATION

AutoClone Software Reduces Data Migration Window from 12 Days to 27 Hours

Nashua, NH – May 19, 2009 – AutoVirt™, Inc., the leading provider of Windows file server virtualization solutions, today announced that Children’s Hospital Boston, an internationally renowned center for medical research and treatment, has deployed its AutoClone™ software, in order to increase the speed and efficiency of its Windows data replication operations.  Since its deployment, AutoClone has helped the Children’s Hospital Boston IT organization to reduce its data migration window from almost 12 days to approximately 27 hours.

“Speed is crucial,” said Tom Boettcher, Systems Specialist, Children’s Hospital Boston.  “When we were first introduced to AutoClone, we were in the middle of a major data migration initiative involving five business critical servers, each with about eight TBs of data.  It was taking about 12 days to migrate just one server’s data, utilizing a competing product.”  He continued, “When we spoke with AutoVirt, we told them that if their product could complete the move over the weekend, we would be ecstatic.  You can imagine our reaction when AutoClone was able to complete the move in roughly one day!  Moreover, AutoClone’s detailed reporting capabilities allowed us to easily monitor, manage and validate the migration in real-time, thus eliminating the manual ‘housekeeping’ that had been necessary with our previous solution.”

“Children’s Hospital Boston runs a sophisticated data center designed to ensure the highest levels of data protection and availability.  Tom Boettcher, together with IS Manager, Ryan Callahan, recognized that devoting as much as 12 days to a data migration initiative was not the best use of their time.  However, in order to guarantee data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity, as well as HIPAA regulations compliance, it had been unavoidable,” said Josh Klein, President and CEO of AutoVirt.  “By leveraging AutoClone’s speed and advanced functionality, Children’s Hospital Boston has dramatically reduced the time and effort they must dedicate to data migration initiatives.”

"High-end file virtualization providers have nurtured the market – moving from the early adopters into the mainstream enterprise with demonstrable value, especially in file.  Unfortunately, many of these products are too expensive or complicated for smaller to mid size organizations.  AutoVirt is delivering an easy to manage, highly scalable solution that provides the value at an affordable cost."
